When microM8 is first run, it will create a microM8 folder in your home directory.
To access disk images (.DSK, .PO, .DO, .NIB or .WOZ) from your local file system in the enhanced CATALOG, place them in this folder.
You can also drop disk images on to the window in order to mount them. Drop the disk on the left-half of the microM8 window to load the disk into drive 1, the right half for drive 2. If you are at the startup splash screen, the disk will boot automatically. Otherwise you can press Shift-Control-Backspace to reboot.
You can use the mouse to control the paddles / joystick, or use a USB gamepad. If a game doesn’t seem to be responding to keyboard control, press the Caps Lock key and try again.
You can access many microM8 functions from the floppy-disk “hamburger” menu, located in the top left-hand corner of the microM8 window. This menu allows you to access the majority of microM8 functions without having to memorise control-key combinations.
This menu also contains options to switch to different machine profiles (eg Apple II+) and format blank floppy disks, functions which are not available via control keys.
If you hover your mouse pointer over the top-left corner of the microM8 window (or screen if in fullscreen mode) the hamburger will appear, and if you click it the menu will appear. Click items or subcategories to navigate the menu. You can also press control-shift-. (period) to activate the menu via the keyboard. You can navigate the menu using the arrow keys.
The hamburger configuration is saved automatically and restored the next time you open microM8. Changes made with control-key combinations are not saved.
